28/04/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) today approved its 2011-2015 Regional Strategy for Central Africa. The strategy is designed to reduce poverty through infrastructure development as well as institutional and human capacity building.

08/04/2011 - In an effort to strengthen the quality of its direct on-the-ground support to regional member countries, the African Development Bank (AfDB) Board of Directors today approved a roadmap for decentralization of its operations over the next five years. The exercise revolves around three key pillars: strengthening the Bank’s existing field offices, expanding its presence in fragile states, and consolidating regional capacity.

06/04/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) today approved the 2011-2012 Regional Integration Strategy Paper for Southern Africa. Regional integration is one of the organisation’s priorities, , as reflected in its 2008-2011 Medium-Term Strategy, its Strategic and Operational Framework for Regional Operations and the its 2009-2012 Regional Integration Strategy.

15/03/2011 - African Development Bank (AfDB) President Donald Kaberuka has affirmed his institution’s strong commitment to enhancing regional integration and growth in Southern Africa. Addressing the media close to the end of a six-day official visit to the region, Dr. Kaberuka said the AfDB had done well in terms of the volume of its support to South Africa and the broader SADC region but still had to do more in view of the challenges that still abound.

07/03/2011 - South Africa is a hub for growth and regional integration in Southern Africa. It accounts for 71.5% of regional GDP and is a key player in NEPAD and SADC. About 70% of intra-regional investment flows in the region is conducted by South African firms. South African investment played a large role in neighbouring countries, accounting for between 9% and 20% of GDP in Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland.

25/02/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) signed in Lusaka on Thursday, 24 February 2011, a protocol agreement for a USD 8.625-million grant to finance the COMESA Airspace Integration project. The agreement was signed by AfDB Zambia Field Office Resident Representative, Freddie Kwesiga and the COMESA Secretary-General, Sindiso Ngwenya, two days after COMESA signed an agreement with Rwanda to host the project management unit in Kigali.

24/01/2011 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), a reçu, ce vendredi 14 janvier 2011 à Tunis, le ministre du plan, de l’économie et de la coopération internationale de la République Centrafricaine et gouverneur de la Banque, Sylvain Maliko. Le gouverneur a été reçu par le Président de la BAD, Donald Kaberuka, avec qui il a passé en revue plusieurs questions liées au développement économique et à l’intégration de l’Afrique et de la sous-région d’Afrique centrale. Profitant de cette « première visite qu’il effectue à la BAD en 2011», M. Maliko a paraphé l’étude multinationale Congo-Centrafrique-Tchad-RDC, concernant la route Ouésso-Bangui-N’Djaména et la Navigation fluviale sur le Congo, l’Oubangui et la Sangha.
