29/11/2010 - L’ancien directeur général de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique (AIEA), M. Mohamed El Baradei, a formellement rejoint le Conseil d’administration de la Coalition pour le dialogue sur l’Afrique (CoDA). Il a siégé dans le Conseil de l’organisation lors de la cinquième session ordinaire de celle-ci tenue à Pointe-aux-Piments, en Ile Maurice, le 19 novembre 2010.

23/11/2010 - Le président de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), Donald Kaberuka, a présidé un panel de haut niveau au Forum sur l’intégration régionale organisé les 20 et 21 novembre à Port-Louis, la capitale mauricienne, à l’initiative de la Fondation Mo Ibrahim. Lors de son propos liminaire au panel dédié à la situation économique et ses perspectives, le président de la BAD a insisté sur les enjeux de l’intégration régionale pour l’Afrique et exhorté l’ensemble des Africains à y contribuer chacun à son niveau. Il a rappelé les progrès accomplis dans ce domaine et les défis qui restent à relever.

An African Development Bank (AfDB) Regional Integration Strategy Paper (RISP) for Eastern Africa will be validated at a workshop scheduled to take place on 11 November in Nairobi, Kenya. The RISP covers Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is designed to support for regional infrastructure and institutional capacity building, including trade facilitation.

29/10/2010 - Infrastructure constraints and ineffective tools for trade facilitation, such as customs services and standards that make the movement of goods on the continent expensive, are some of the reasons why intra-African trade accounts for only 9.6% of total goods exports in the region. Based on this diagnosis, the AfDB supports the Aid for Trade Initiative (ATI) in several regions of the continent.

23/04/2010 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le gouvernement béninois ont signé, jeudi 22 avril 2010 à Tunis, un protocole d’accord de don (22,18 millions d’unités de compte-UC) et un accord de prêt (11,5 millions d’UC), d’un montant global de 33,68 millions d’UC (24,88 milliards de Francs CFA), pour le financement du projet de bitumage de la route Ndali-Nikki-Chicandou-Frontière du Nigeria dont le coût total s’élève à 36,85 millions d’UC (27,2 milliards de Francs CFA).

06/04/2010 - The Burundi infrastructure action plan was jointly presented by the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the country’s public works ministry on Friday, 2 April 2010 in Bujumbura, during a workshop chaired by the country’s second vice president, Gabriel Ntisezerana, in the presence of the country’s finance minister, Clotilde Nizigama, and the AfDB Country and regional Programs and Policy Operations Vice President, Aloysius Ordu. Some eighty participants, representing the government, the private sector, development partners and donors, participated in the presentation. The report is a summary of a study conducted on transportation, energy, telecommunication and the mining sector, taking into account national and regional objectives.
