This year’s them is: “Water for growth in Africa, AMCOW’s Journey@10.” Sub-themes include “Private sector investment in water and sanitation”; “Infrastructure for Green Growth and Climate Resilience" and "Water Governance and Financing".

17/04/2012 - La Banque africaine de développement, l’Office national de l’assainissement (ONAS) et le gouvernement tunisien ont organisé à Hammamet, du 10 au 12 avril, un atelier de trois jours pour lancer un projet qui vise une meilleure utilisation des eaux usées épurées dans 17 gouvernorats. Le recours à ces ressources alternatives permettra de remédier aux importants déficits en eau en Tunisie, maintenant et pour l’avenir.

16/03/2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has signed two grant agreements with the Gambian government totalling USD 7 million to improve access to clean drinking water and better sanitation for an estimated 40,000 people in rural areas of the country and cut hygiene-related deaths in those areas, particularly among children.

14/03/2012 - The president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Donald Kaberuka, will make the opening speech at a high-level event at the Sixth World Water Forum today, 14 March 2012, in Marseilles where a distinguished panel of experts will tackle the issues of water resource management and access to water and sanitation in Africa.

01/03/2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB), the Tunisian government and the National Sanitation Authority, on 1 March, signed a loan agreement and guarantee agreement for €32.5 million (Tunisian dinars 64.45 million) to finance a waste water treatment infrastructure rehabilitation project across the country.

24/01/2012 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé, le 11 janvier 2012, un financement de 64,45 millions de dinars tunisiens (32,45 millions d’euros) destiné à un projet de mise à niveau des infrastructures de traitement des eaux usées. L’objectif de ce projet est d’améliorer la qualité des eaux épurées qui serviront à l’irrigation de 5000 hectares de terres agricoles. L’agriculture constitue une importante activité économique en Tunisie et contribue à la sécurité alimentaire du pays.
