25/11/2011 - The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative Trust Fund, a fund managed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), will receive a 20 million US dollar contribution from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The funds are to help accelerate access to water supply and sanitation in rural Africa. This is the Swiss agency’s second contribution to the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative Trust Fund. It is close to six times the amount of its first contribution.

20/07/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and global conservation group WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) have come together to work closely on green economy and development issues in Africa. Both organisations signed a cooperative agreement to this effect in Geneva on 20July.

29/09/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on 29 September 2010 in Tunis, approved a proposal for a multi-donor Governance Trust Fund. The Fund’s objective is to help the Bank’s regional member countries build capable and responsive states by strengthening transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.

14/06/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will on 14 June 2010 host the fourth Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI) Trust Fund Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting will review the 2009 progress of RWSSI; approve the 2010 Lending Programme/Budget; and agree on the way forward. The meeting will bring together representatives from France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, and the AfDB.
