20/11/2012 - Le Roi Mohamed VI du Maroc a présidé, le mercredi 14 novembre 2012, la cérémonie de lancement des travaux de dédoublement et de renouvellement de la voie ferroviaire entre Casablanca et Marrakech. Cet important évènement intervient à la suite de celui qui a eu lieu le 23 septembre dernier. Ces travaux s’inscrivent dans le cadre global du projet d’augmentation de la capacité de l’axe ferroviaire Tanger-Marrakech. Ce projet bénéficie d’un financement de la BAD, d’un montant d’environ 300 millions d’euros.
09/11/2012 - The Presidents of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki, and the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka, have launched today “the most ambitious infrastructure project in Kenya’s history”: the Nairobi–Thika superhighway. This eight-lane ultra-modern superhighway stretching from the city of Nairobi all the way to the outskirts of Thika town some 50 kilometres away will deeply change the lives of millions of people.

09/11/2012 - The 50-km Nairobi–Thika superhighway, described by Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki as a source of “national pride” during its launch on November 9, covers an area that lies within the Nairobi Metropolitan and Central Province, including large sections of the City and Thika district. The road traverses Kasarani, Githurai, Ruiru, Juja and ends at Thika River Bridge in Thika district. The total population living along the road is approximately 1 million.

09/11/2012 - The construction of the Turbi–Moyale road upgrading project, which is part of the third and last phase of the Mombasa–Nairobi–Addis Ababa Road Corridor Development project, was launched in Moyale, a town that straddles the borders of Kenya and Ethiopia, by Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki on Wednesday, November 7.

25/09/2012 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a pris part à la cérémonie de lancement, par le Roi Mohammed VI, des travaux de triplement et de renouvellement de la voie ferroviaire entre Casablanca et Kenitra. Ces travaux s’inscrivent dans le cadre global du projet d’augmentation de la capacité de l’axe ferroviaire Tanger-Marrakech financée par le Groupe de la Banque.

20/09/2012 - A high-level delegation from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) visited the African Development Bank Group on September 18 in Tunis to share industry knowledge that may help revolutionize aviation in Africa. The workshop entitled “Developing Africa’s Air Transportation” was co-chaired by Tas Anvaripour, Manager for Infrastructure Finance in the Private Sector Department of the African Development Bank.

07/09/2012 - L’agglomération de Dakar représente 0.3 % du territoire national, abrite 25% de la population et concentre 80% de l’activité économique du pays. Pour résoudre le problème de mobilité urbaine due à l’enclavement géographique de Dakar, l’Etat du Sénégal a pris l’initiative de construire une autoroute reliant Dakar à Diamniadio (32 km – dont 25 km mis à péage), qui devrait également desservir le nouvel Aéroport International Blaise Diagne, à 42 km de Dakar. Le projet comprend, outre la construction de l’autoroute, la libération des emprises ; le recasement de plus de 5.000 ménages et l’aménagement du site de recasement de Tivaouane Peulh ; la restructuration de Pikine Irrégulier Sud ; ainsi que la gestion et le suivi de l’exécution du projet.

07/09/2012 - La modernisation du terminal à conteneur stimulera le commerce international et les activités exportatrices. Le temps d’attente moyen des navires en rade a été réduit de près de 15 heures à 2 heures pour les navires et de plusieurs heures à moins de 30 minutes pour les camions. Le Projet appuie le transfert de compétences d’un opérateur portuaire international de premier rang à la direction et aux employés locaux. Le Projet a contribué à la création de plus de 300 emplois.
