09/10/2012 - The African Development Bank’s Malawi Field Office with the Southern Africa Resource Center (SARC) and the Development Research Department (EDRE) launched the 2012 African Economic Outlook (AEO) report in Malawi on October 4 at a workshop organized in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Lilongwe.

05/10/2012 - European and African policy-makers, economists and academics working on and with Africa, came together in Paris Thursday to discuss the performance of African economies and the major challenges faced by the continent. The 12th International Economic Forum organized by the OECD Conference Centre, in collaboration with the AfDB, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, the UN Development Programme, and the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, gathered more than 500 participants to look at ways to boost the job market as millions of youth get ready to enter the work force across the continent.

04/10/2012 - An African Development Bank Group delegation led by Chief Economist and Vice-President, Professor Mtuli Ncube, and including the Director of Research (EDRE) and the Director of Human Development (OSHD) was in the United States from September 25 to October 1 to launch the 2012 edition of African Economic Outlook in Washington, D.C. and New York.

03/10/2012 - Reducing unemployment and inequalities in Tunisia’s underprivileged areas is the goal of the African Development Bank’s Souk At-Tanmia project. On 26 September 300 candidates among youths willing to set up their own business were pre-selected as part of the pilot initiative for economic development led by the AfDB and 18 partners.

Sur le thème « Gestion des ressources humaines et naturelles : quelles politiques pour promouvoir l’emploi des jeunes en Afrique ? », ce Forum est organisé par le Centre de développement de l’OCDE en partenariat avec la Banque africaine de développement, le Programme des Nations Unies pour le développement, la Commission économique des Nations Unies pour l’Afrique et le gouvernement français.
