15/02/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) President, Donald Kaberuka, expressed gratitude to AfDB regional governors for supporting the institution’s efforts for a general capital increase (GCI). Speaking at the closing ceremony of a meeting of AfDB governors on Friday, February 12, 2010, in Tunis, Mr. Kaberuka underscored the importance of the institution’s general capital increase.

12/02/2010 - Meeting in Tunis on Friday, February 12, 2010, African Development Bank (AfDB) regional governors unanimously endorsed an AfDB general capital increase proposal. The endorsement which is contained in a final communiqué issued at the end of the meeting underscores that a “200% increase would allow the Bank to serve client countries and entities within them.”

Cette inauguration s’est déroulé sous le patronage des ministres algériens des affaires étrangères, M. Mourad Medelci, et des finances, M. Karim Djoudi, gouverneur de la BAD pour l’Algérie.

11/02/2010 - The Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) is a component of the Enhanced Private Sector Assistance Initiative (EPSA), a billion-dollar joint initiative of Japan and the AfDB to promote private sector development in Africa. The FAPA trust fund provides untied grants for studies, technical assistance and capacity building for private sector projects and African institutions.

10/02/2010 - Bank Group experts with their counterparts from OECD Development Centre, the EU and UNECA, on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Tunis, pursued their peer review meeting on the African Economic Outlook. Tuesday’s meeting was devoted to brainstorming by the various working groups. The meeting also served as a platform for the Economic Development and Research Department Director, Léonce Ndikumana, to express his satisfaction with participants’ commitments to the country reviews underway.
