03/07/2009 - The AfDB will attend the World Conference on Higher Education (WCHE). Organized by UNESCO, the event will take place from 5 – 8 July 2009 in Paris and the AfDB will be represented by an education experts’ team led by Vice President, Zeinab El-Bakri.

The Africa Competitiveness Report 2009 launched in Tunis july 2, 2009 by the African Development Bank, is jointly produced by the African development Bank, World Economic Forum and the World Bank. The report takes stock of African competitiveness and finds that financial development and free trade critical for riding out the crisis; while improvements to infrastructure, health and education and governance remain the medium-term keys to increased competitiveness.
