Objectives

The Awaohie-Poukuase road project is aimed at: providing an alternative route for vehicular traffic currently using the Pokuase-Achimota route to access the Western parts of Accra and beyond and vice versa, and improve the transportation system between the two towns (Pokuase and Awoshie) and adjoining settlements.

Rationale

The Awaohie-Pokuase road will link the Accra-Kumasi Road to the Motorway at Awoshie . This road has a strategic importance as a potential main arterial linking the west of Accra to the northern parts of the city.
