Objective
The sector goal of the proposed project is to empower poor communities to access socio-economic services in order to reduce poverty. To this end, the main objective of the proposed project is to improve the management of local socio-economic development.
Description
CEISP will comprise of the following two components:
- Capacity Building, and
- trengthening Decentralized Development Planning and Finance. The project components will require the implementation of activities that will involve a mix of inputs from the following categories: (A) Goods, (B) Works, (C) Services and (C) Operating Costs.
Benefits
Besides the general public which will benefit from the IEC campaigns on DFs, the specific project beneficiaries are expected to be poor and vulnerable communities which constitute approximately 10 million or quarter of the population. More than 70,000 persons from 35 districts (approximately 70 constituencies) will directly benefit from the project. These will include: project management committees, constituency development coordinating committees, DDCs, DECs, CSOs, training facilitators, councilors and MPs, relevant sector officials at national and provincial level, and staff of the RPD in the MoPND.
