Consultant services for carrying out detailed engineering studies, cost estimates and preparation of tender documents.
Objectives
To carry out detailed engineering design and contract documents for implementation of the civil works to solve the existing traffic problems.
Rationale
The proposed road improvements will provide a high level of service to road users. With the increase routing of export and imports for the land. Lock countries to the east and north-east of Namibia through the Walvis Bay borders, the number of heavy vehicles on this road and hence platooning is expected to increase significantly and therefore will worsen traffic problems.
Benefits
Higher level of services is provided bo road users resulting to reduced vehicle operating costs, travel time and platooning. In addition, road safety will be enhanced.
