Description

The objective of the project, is to improve the quality and delivery of water supply and sanitation services in the 16 small towns of Western Province. The works comprise rehabilitation and extension of the existing water supply and sanitation infrastructure in the 16 centres. The project will strengthen the Western Water and Sewerage Company (that is responsible for the delivery of the services.


Benefits

The project will improve access to clean water supply and sanitation facilities for the affected population in the project area. The majority were those living in peri-urban and low income households. The project will have significant impact on public health and general living condition of 902,000 people, who depended on unsafe and unreliable sources like shallow wells for their water supply.
