Description
The proposed study consists of three main components:
(i) Site Investigations and Development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) database, including inspections and data collection for 200 hydraulic structures in 75 locations;
(ii) Safety Evaluations and Development of a Decision Support System, including undertaking a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and socio-economic cost-benefit analysis for the structures; and
(iii) Development of a Master Plan and Preparation of a capital investment project for the top priority major structure identified under the study.

Contribute to the improvement of water distribution and allocation efficiency in Egypt and the reduction of the risks of flooding and damage to life and property through the: 1.Preparation of a Master Plan for the rehabilitation/ replacement of major hydraulic control structures on the Nile. 2.Preparation of a capital investment project for a to priority major structure in order to facilitate the mobilisation of funds for implementation.
