08/05/2011 - AfDB in 2010: a Strong Commitment for Africa
The objective of the Bank’s Information and Communication (ICT) Operations strategy is to make an important contribution to poverty reduction and economic growth of Regional Member Countries (RMCs) by increasing Bank’s role in extending access to ICT infrastructure, stimulating private sector investment and ultimately enhancing good governance, the efficient delivery of public services like education and health, thus contribute to the Millennium Development Goals.
The ICT coordination function of the Bank was established in 2008 following the Board’s approval of the Bank Groups ICT operations strategy.
La Banque Africaine de Développement s’est lancée dans un vaste programme de développement durable et de réduction de la pauvreté à travers les Nouvelles Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication. Ce vaste chantier va sans nul doute répondre à l’attente de la population africaine qui comme nous le savons est restée pendant plusieurs décennies en marge de ces avancées Technologues.
The African Development Bank Group is doing a lot for our people by means of ICT. That's commendable. However, how has the rural areas of the continent benefited from these innovations. In fact the rural areas of Africa are the most undeveloped.
The Bank has to put some machinery in motion to monitor & supervise the objective and the ICT project in the continent for the purpose of MDG and poverty alleviation
Indeed the objective is facinating & even fantastic, however, there should be a method and ways of monitoring all the expensives expended on the objectives of the Bank in the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in alleviating poverty in the continent. Thanks.
Les efforts que fournient la BAD par rapport à ce domaine de la TIC contribue à la réduction de la pauvreté et au developpement des pays africains. Si la BAD pourrait egalement s'investir dans le renforcement des capacités des cadres africains evoluant dans la TIC ne serait pas aussi negligeant. Courage et réussite dans toutes vos démarches et soutien que vous n'avez cessé d'apporter aux pays africains d'une manière générale et à mon pays le Tchad particulièrement.
