Callixte Kambanda

Callixte Kambanda is an Infrastructure Specialist with the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA), whose Secretariat is housed at the African Development Bank. He is a holder of an MBA in Project Management and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His current work at the ICA focuses on activities in the energy and ICT sectors. He has an extensive experience working in the energy sector, particularly with African countries, Regional Economic Communities and specialized institutions for the energy sector. He led the work on different ICA publications on energy, IPPs in Africa and power pools, among others. Before joining the ICA in January 2008, he was working as Executive Secretary of the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP).


Le marché de l’électricité et le rôle des pools énergétiques

Nombre de pays africains ont connu un déficit d'approvisionnement en électricité durant la dernière décennie écoulée. En 2008, près de 25 pays étaient confrontés à une telle pénurie. Entre autres raisons de ce déficit en électricité, la mauvaise gestion et le manque d'entretien des installations existantes s’avèrent les plus convaincantes.
