Inye Nathan Briggs
Inye Nathan Briggs is Principal Trade Regulatory Officer at the AfDB. Before joining the Bank, he worked as Regional Trade Policy Adviser at the African Union (AU) Headquarters in Addis Ababa, under the auspices of the Commonwealth Hub and Spokes Trade Capacity Building Programme for the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States.
He has also served as a negotiator on the Nigerian Resident Delegation at the Nigeria Trade Office to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, with simultaneous accreditations to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Trade Centre (ITC) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Le 30 janvier 2012, le 18e Sommet de l’Union africaine des Chefs d’État approuvait un Plan d'action destiné à intensifier le commerce intra-africain (dit par acronyme en anglais “BIAT”). Lors de ce sommet, il a également été décidé qu'une zone continentale de libre-échange (ZLE) serait opérationnelle à l’horizon 2017.
