Nathalie Gahunga

Chief Gender Officer of the Department of Agriculture and Agro-Industry Department of AfDB. Previously, she worked as gender consultant in Africa. She designed, coordinated and provided technical support in the implementation of Agriculture projects and regional programs for Women in Informal Cross Border Trade, Peace as well as Conflict Resolution. She was the Executive Secretary of the Organisation of African First Lady against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA). She worked as Regional Program Officer (Rwanda, Burundi, and Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) for the Center for International Studies and Cooperation. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a M.A. in International Relations. Ms. Gahunga was a fellow researcher of the Gender Boston Consortium at the Center for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts in Boston. In addition, she co-published chronicles entitled “La Paix au Féminin” in Canada about the impact of conflicts on women in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa.
