05/04/2013 - As of the 31st of March 2013, the Global Environment Facility’s Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) has granted USD 18.6 million to be channeled by the African Development Bank (AfDB) to Sierra Leone, Uganda and Mauritania for project concepts to help climate-proof their water sectors. This work is regarded as a critical element of these countries’ moves toward climate-resilient poverty reduction and sustainable development.

26/03/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved, on March 25, 2013, a grant amounting to US $3.04 million to finance the Kholombidzo Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Feasibility Studies in Malawi. The Government of Malawi will contribute US $0.23 million (7%) of the total study cost of US $3.27 million.

04/03/2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et la Banque d’investissement et de développement de la CEDEAO (BIDC) ont signé un accord pour un don de 950 000 dollars, destiné à renforcer les capacités institutionnelles de la BIDC. La cérémonie de signature, qui s’est tenue lors de l’inauguration du bureau national de la BAD au Togo, était co-présidée par Serge N’Guessan, représentant résident de la BAD au Togo et Bashir Ifo, président de la BIDC.

28/02/2013 - Le conseil d’administration de la Banque africaine de développement a approuvé, le 27 février, à Abidjan, en Côte d’Ivoire, un prêt de 300 millions de dollars américains pour financer le programme de réformes des secteurs du transport et de la gouvernance économique du Nigeria.
Le Conseil a également approuvé le Document de stratégie pays pour le Nigeria couvrant la période 2013-2017.

26/02/2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Wednesday, February 20 a Trade Finance package of US $200 million comprising an unfunded risk-sharing facility and a trade facilitation loan, to support Ecobank Transnational Incorporated’s (ETI) trade finance activities in Africa. The AfDB’s support will enable Ecobank to enhance its trade finance confirmation capabilities, avail medium-term liquidity support to ETI’s subsidiaries to provide appropriate trade finance to African small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local corporates, and demonstrate appetite for Africa risk.
