22/05/2013 - Suite au lancement en mars 2013 des plates-formes Open Data dans 30 pays africains, la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) vient de lancer des plates-formes additionnelles Open Data pour les 10 pays africains suivants : Burkina Faso, Burundi, République centrafricaine, Tchad, Gabon, Mali, Madagascar, Niger, Somalie, Soudan. Cela porte à quarante (40) le nombre de pays africains déjà connectés au réseau Open Data.

09/04/2013 - La conférence internationale sur le Soudan a pris fin le 8 avril à Doha au Qatar, avec l’engagement des donateurs de contribuer 3,6 milliards de dollars pour le développement et la reconstruction de la région du Darfour.

11/03/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Republic of Sudan on February 28, 2013 signed an agreement for a grant of US $0.34 million to the National Energy Research Centre (NERC) to undertake Capacity Building and Assessment of Options for Increasing Access to Energy in Sudan.

14/12/2012 - On December 14, 2102 in Khartoum, the African Development Bank and the Government of Sudan launched the project on Capacity Enhancement for Debt Management and Resource Mobilization (CEDMRM). The US $1.5 million grant from Fragile States Facility (Pillar III) was approved by the Bank’s Board early this year and the agreement signed with the Government on May 3, 2012. This project launch was presided over by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Abdalla Elhusein.

05/12/2012 - Over 750,000 people from three Darfur states will have improved access to water supply and sanitation through a €3.3 million African Water Facility (AWF) grant. The project was recently launched during two separate ceremonies held on November 25 in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, and on November 29 in El Fasher, North Darfur State capital.

03/12/2012 - On Sunday, December 2, 2012, the African Development Institute (EADI) in collaboration with the Sudan Field Office (SDFO) launched a Project Implementation Workshop in Khartoum, Sudan, which will run until December 6, 2012. In his official opening remarks, the Deputy Director General for International Financial Cooperation at the Sudanese Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Abdel Rahim, underscored the importance of the Bank’s increased engagement with Sudan and appreciated the Bank’s prompt response to Sudan’s capacity development needs as critical and timely.

23/11/2012 - On Tuesday 20th November 2012, the AfDB signed a US$ 0.26 million protocol agreement with Mamaoun Beheiry Centre for Economic and Social Studies and Research (MBC), a policy think-tank in Khartoum named after the first President of the Bank. The grant was approved by the Nigeria Technical Cooperation Fund (NTCF). The agreement was then signed by the Bank’s Resident Representative for Sudan, Mr. Abdul B. Kamara, and the Director of MBC, Dr. Sayed Ali Zaki, at a special ceremony presided over by His Excellency Ali Mahmound Abdelrasoul, Minister of Finance and National Economy.

18/06/2012 - Public finance is not enough to meet Africa’s growing need for better water and sanitation, said a senior African Development Bank (AfDB) official at a conference on the subject. Private funding must also play its part, he said.

16/05/2012 - An African Development Bank (AfDB) mission is currently in Khartoum, Sudan, working with Government authorities and other stakeholders to develop a program intended to build resilience to droughts and provide sustainable livelihoods in the Greater Horn of Africa (GHOA). The mission is headed by AfDB livestock specialist, Umar Lawal, together with Abdul B. Kamara, AfDB’s Resident Representative for Sudan, and various experts from the AfDB and from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
