11/06/2012 - The railways sector development project in the East African Community (EAC) region was at the center of discussions during the Bank’s 2012 Annual Meetings in Arusha, Tanzania. A joint funding grant accord was signed on June 1, between the EAC, the Indian Trust Fund and the NEPAD-Infrastructure Preparation Project Facility, to modernize and improve the railway sector in the region.

Le Rapport sur l’empreinte écologique de l’Afrique : infrastructures vertes pour la sécurité écologique de l'Afrique fait le point sur la santé des écosystèmes de l'Afrique, ainsi que les tendances des modes d'utilisation des ressources. Il formule également des recommandations sur la mise en œuvre des voies de développement vert pour l'Afrique.

01/06/2012 - Japan’s Senior Vice Minister of Finance, Yukihisa Fujita, announced today, at the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) Annual Meetings, the Japanese government’s intention to provide another USD one billion over the next five years for a second phase of the Enhanced Private Sector Assistance (EPSA) for Africa Initiative, as a follow-up to the G8 Camp David Summit which took place from 18-19 May 2012. Mr. Yukihisa made the announcement during a joint session with AfDB President, Donald Kaberuka, and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Akihiko Tanaka.
