18/03/2013 - La Revue sur l’efficacité du développement est une série de publications examinant la contribution de la Banque africaine de développement (dite la « BAD » ou la « Banque ») aux résultats en matière de développement en Afrique. Depuis la première Revue annuelle sur l’efficacité du développement, publiée en 2011, cette série participe à l’exigence de transparence de la BAD et à son obligation de rendre compte auprès de ses pays membres et des différentes parties prenantes. Elle permet également de s’assurer que nos opérations ne cessent de s’améliorer. En 2012, nous avons publié une série de numéros examinant certains aspects du portefeuille de la BAD, notamment les États fragiles, la gouvernance, l’intégration régionale et le programme pays de la Banque au Rwanda.

01/11/2011 - More than 30 African Development Bank (AfDB) task managers, as well as environment and climate change specialists, attended a two-day workshop on the AfDB’s new Climate Safeguards System (CSS) from 11 to 13 October 2011 in Tunis, Tunisia to learn how CSS can support project teams in their efforts to mainstream climate risks into the AfDB’s operations. The first day of the training offered an overview of the CSS climate screening process, which helps project teams assess their project’s climate vulnerability and define adaptation measures and options to address them. The second day of training was dedicated to applying the screening process to specific sectors. The pilot stage of the new CSS targets Africa’s most vulnerable sectors: agriculture, water, energy and transport.

01/11/2011 - As part of an ongoing effort to prepare Africa's negotiating position at the December UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP17) in Durban, South Africa, the African Development Bank (AfDB) sent a delegation led by its Quality Assurance and Results Department and Climate Change Coordinating Committee to the UN Climate Change Conference in Panama City, Panama from 1 to 7 October 2011. This was the last formal negotiating session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) before COP17. The AfDB followed up with African negotiators on outstanding issues, including the Africa Green Fund, and hosted two side events on critical areas in Africa’s fight against climate change: understanding Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and managing water resources.
