En sa qualité de premier président en exercice de la COMIFAC, en fin 2004, il est venu solliciter la Banque pour qu’elle prenne le leadership dans la gestion des écosystèmes forestiers du Bassin du Congo et en même temps inviter l’institution à participer à la Conférence de Brazzaville en février 2005. A Londres lors du lancement du Fonds comme porte-parole de la COMIFAC (Commission des forêts d’Afrique Centrale), il plaide avec vigueur en faveur de la venue d’autres donateurs, de manière à obtenir des résultats plus durables et d’assurer une meilleure concertation des efforts consentis à la conservation des forêts du bassin.

16-JUN-08AfDB Hosts Congo Basin Forest Fund The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has been chosen to host the «Congo Basin Forest Fund» which currently has an initial contribution of US$ 100 million from the United Kingdom. Norway intends to contribute 50 million pounds to the Fund over the next three years. The Board of Directors of the Bank Group has endorsed the decision to host the fund up to 2018.
