Since January 1st 2002, Pierre Jacquet is the Executive Director and Chief Economist at the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). Chief Engineer from Ponts et Chaussées, he was previously Deputy Director of the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI) and editor of the quarterly review “Politique étrangère”. He is also Professor of International Political Economy and Chairman of the Department of Human sciences, economics, management and finance at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC). He belongs to the Circle of Economists, a group of about thirty economists who hosts a daily column on Radio Classique. He is also visiting professor at INSEAD. He served from July 1997 to February 2006 in the Council of Economic Analysis, which is a Board of independent experts established under the French Prime Minister in July 1997. His research focuses on monetary economics, macroeconomics, international trade, development economics and issues of governance of globalization.
