Elizabeth Asiedu is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Kansas and the incoming Director of Research of the African Economic Research Consortium. She is also the President-elect of the African Finance Economic Association. Professor Asiedu’s research focuses on Development Finance. She has received several teaching/mentoring awards at the University of Kansas, including The Outstanding Woman Educator Award, the Kemper Teaching Award, the Byron Shutz Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Woman of Distinction Award. Her research has received both national and international prominence. In 2007, she was one of ten recipients of The Emerging Scholar Award, awarded by Diverse Magazine.
