Dakar, a modern capital
Dakar, the capital of Senegal, is a large town of more than two million inhabitants, located on the Cape Verde peninsular, the farthest point of Africa on its Atlantic coast.
This special geographical location makes it a preeminent airport and maritime platform.
Indeed, Dakar is a few hours’ flight from Europe and the United States of America.
A modern town with its tall buildings on the Highland, Dakar also has traditional districts.
Because of its population growth, the town, full of charm, expands each year, with new districts in its suburbs.
The ADB Annual Meetings will take place in the new residential areas of Almadies and Ngor, which compete with the city centre in terms of services and leisure activities.
