Some restaurants and shops in Dakar accept credit cards such as Visa, Master-Card and American Express.
The currency in Senegal is the CFA franc, the currency common to the member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). Currencies are exchanged in commercial banks, foreign exchange offices, and hotels.
The CFA franc is pegged to the Euro at the fixed exchange rate of 1 Euro = 655.957 CFA F.
Convertible currencies can be freely exchanged at banks, foreign exchange offices and the main Hotels.
