A race against time
Ms. Aimee Bella-Corbin, co-editor of the Africa Ecological Footprint report 2012 has over 17-year broad range professional experience in the area of environment, climate change and water and sanitation engineering. She has an extensive track record working in different capacities within the African Development Bank, as a Senior Environmental Expert, a Water and Sanitation Engineer and now as a Principal Safeguard Specialist. Her work experience outside the Bank covers policy, operational and institutional capacity development (i) as Deputy Director in the Ivorian government institution; (ii) National Program Coordinator for a GEF funded project; (iii) Water Resources Analyst with the US Army Corps of Engineer in the United States; and (iii) International Consultant for several institutions including the ADB, World Bank, IFC, UNDP, UNIDO and the Stockholm Environmental Institute (SEI).
Ms. Bella’s holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona (USA) and two Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado and North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA). Her earlier experiences include writing the Bank 2003 Involuntary Resettlement Policy as well as teaching and conducting research in operation systems.
