Measuring the pulse of Economic Transformation in West Africa
Adalbert Nshimyumuremyi is Chief Country Economist (Cabo Verde and Gambia) in the West Africa Region Department. He has completed 26 years of experience in macroeconomic policy, poverty reduction, decentralization, local development and statistical capacity building among others. Inside the AfDB, he has worked in the Statistics Department as an expert for the International Comparison Programme for Africa (ICP-Africa) and AfDB team leader for the Regional Reference Strategic Framework (RRSF) for Statistical Capacity Building in Africa. Before joining the AfDB in 2003, he served as an economist in the Rwanda Ministry of Economic Planning, a lecturer, researcher, and Director of Graduate Program at the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée” (ENSEA, Abidjan). In addition, he has worked as an international consultant with agencies such as AfDB, UNDP, UNICEF, EU, OECD and GIZ. He graduated from ENSAE-Paris Tech and Paris School of Economics (PSE) EHESS.
