Measuring the pulse of Economic Transformation in West Africa
Wilberforce Mariki is a Principal Country Economist with the Ghana Field Office (GHFO), West Africa Regional Department (ORWA). Between December 2004 and July 2008, Mr. Mariki worked as Macroeconomist for the Bank Field Office in Tanzania, before moving to the Bank Group Headquarters in Tunisia as a Senior Country Economist. Mr. Mariki also worked at the Regional Resource Center in South Africa from January 2012, before his transfer to Ghana Field Office in November 2012. Prior to joining the African Development Bank in 2004, Mr. Mariki was an Economist with the Government of Tanzania; working for the Planning Commission and President’s Office Economic Policy Advisory Unit from 1989-2001 and 2001–2004 respectively. Mr. Mariki holds Master’s Degrees in Economic Planning and Economic Policy Management from the United Nations African Institute for Economic Planning, Dakar Senegal and from the Columbia University in USA respectively.
