15/02/2017 - The eight-nation Intergovernmental Agency on Development (IGAD) has secured a US $3.50-million grant from the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank Group, to finance the agency’s Infrastructure Master Plan (IRIMP).

15/07/2015 - The African Water Facility (AWF) participated in a handover ceremony on June 18 to mark the completion of the Saday dam in Djibouti. The AWF’s involvement is part of a project to support the mobilization of water for domestic and agricultural use in rural areas.

08/10/2014 - In a newly released report prepared in 2014 by the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) East Africa Regional Resource Center in Nairobi, Kenya, on the occasion of the Bank’s 50th anniversary, the AfDB describes how it is fulfilling its mandate in Eastern Africa as Africa’s own development bank. The report takes stock of the socio-economic situation today; highlights the Bank’s successes; describes new strategies and instruments; and identifies key challenges the region is likely to face in the next decades.

20/02/2014 - La Facilité africaine de l’eau (FAE) a participé, le 29 janvier 2014, à la cérémonie de lancement des travaux de construction d’infrastructures destinées à mobiliser de l’eau à des fins domestique et agricole à Saday. Au terme du projet, plus de 100 000 personnes auront ainsi un meilleur accès aux ressources en eau.

11/07/2013 - The African Development Bank’s Open Data Platform is now operational for the entire African continent. This follows the completion in July 2013 of the last phase of the project for the following 14 African countries: Benin, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Kenya, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, and Togo.

An African Development Bank (AfDB) Regional Integration Strategy Paper (RISP) for Eastern Africa will be validated at a workshop scheduled to take place on 11 November in Nairobi, Kenya. The RISP covers Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is designed to support for regional infrastructure and institutional capacity building, including trade facilitation.
