1997-2001 - Ghana - Review of Bank Assistance to the Agriculture and Rural Development Sector


The evaluation study was undertaken in Ghana during the period February – March 2003. The main objective for the study was to assess the relevance and consistence of the Bank Group assistance strategy to Ghana’s agriculture and rural development sector in general and how the objectives of the assistance have been achieved in terms of: (a) its development effectiveness on the national economy; (b) whether the assistance has had desired impact on the socio-economic development of the country, (c) whether the benefits had contributed to poverty reduction, human capacity building and institutional development, promotion of private sector development and improvement in living conditions in the country.
