2010-2015 - Senegal - Country Strategy Paper
The Bank Group’s new assistance strategy covering the 2010-2015 period was prepared in a context where Senegal asserted its ambition of becoming an emerging economy. The main vectors of that ambition are: (i) promoting a world-class economic environment; (ii) developing infrastructure; and (iii) achieving accelerated growth. In line with this vision, the Bank increased the volume of transactions under its Private Sector Window in Senegal in the last few years, making the country a pilot case for instruments such as PPPs. Summarized below are an analysis of recent political, economic and social trends, the development challenges and opportunities before the country and the Bank’s assistance strategy.
