Bank Group Policy on Good Governance

Over the last few years, the African Development Bank Group (The Bank) has given due recognition to the issue of good governance for two main reasons. First, from broader perspective, good governance, which promotes accountability, transparency, rule of law and participation, is central to creating and sustaining an enabling environment for development. Second, from the Bank’s perspective, it is inextricably related to the efficacy of the investment that it helps to finance, and is in line with the Institution’s vision for sustained African development into the 21st Century.
