Economic Brief - From the ICP-Africa Regional Coordinator - Issue 3 - December 2011

The surveys for price data collection for household consumption items and some of specific national accounts activities, are underway in 50 countries. The heads of national statistical offices and the ICP national coordinating teams and as well as the ICP coordinating teams at sub-regional organizations have shown commitment in the implementation of the ICP-Africa to assure their success. Despite the financial constraints that countries have been facing in implementing the program, they have continued to submit price data for household consumption items on time, with only a few lagging in submission by about a month.
