EOI - Angola - Renewable Energy Expert and Project Manager
The Government of Angola (GoA) has received a USD 1 million grant from the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) managed by the African Development Bank to financially support the Angola renewable Energy Program (AREP), and it intends to apply part of the agreed amount of this grant to recruit a long-term Renewable Energy Expert and Project Manager. AREP aims to strengthen the technical capacities of the GoA (including the Ministry of Energy and Water, the National Transmission Network, the Regulatory Institute for Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Finance) so it can independently roll out different windows of competitive, transparent and streamlined bidding. The long-term objective of AREP is to set up a dedicated framework that will act as a one-stop shop for all future competitive procurement for energy IPPs in Angola. This strategic shift is expected to encourage private investments into renewable energy generation and reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuel resources. The AREP Program is implemented by GoA through its Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA).
