GPN - Sierra Leone - Freetown Wash & Aquatic Environment Revamping Project
The Republic of Sierra Leone has received a grant and loan from the African Development Fund to finance the Freetown WASH & Aquatic Environment Revamping Project. In addition, the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone has applied for co-financing the same project from Islamic Development Bank, OPEC Fund for International Development, Kuwait Fund, Saudi Fund, ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, and Netherlands Enterprise Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Government also intends to apply for additional project financing from the Green Climate Fund and Adaptation Fund. The total cost of the project is estimated at approximately USD180 million. The Project will be executed by Guma Valley Water Company. The Freetown City Council and National Protected Areas Authority will be key implementing partners.
