Guidelines for the Implementation of Bank Group’s Policy on Population
The revised Bank Group’s policy on population was adopted in January 2001 in response to the new international agenda and in conformity to the new Bank Vision. Its main goal is to provide support to Regional Member Countries (RMCs) in developing and implementing integrated population policies and programs in the context of poverty reduction and sustainable development. The present guidelines provide a road map for the identification and integration of population factors into the activities of the Bank Group. Specifically they focus on issues relating to institutional and key operational strategies, country programming and the project cycle.
