Following presidential and parliamentary elections held in late 2013, the situation in Madagascar is returning to normal after five years of internal socio-political crisis. Even so, the political process remains fragile and needs to be consolidated through efforts that the new authorities should deploy to ensure national reconciliation and strengthen the rule of law, governance, economic and social recovery.
