Malawi - Agriculture Infrastructure Support Project (AISP) - PCR
The project’s development objective remained relevant since its activities, outputs and outcomes were contributing to the national development priorities as defined in the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS I) 2006-2011. The Strategy focused on increasing agricultural productivity and integrating smallholder farmers into commercial activities. Furthermore, the project activities were aligned to the three focus areas of the Agriculture Sector Wide Approach (ASWAp) investment plan namely food security and risk management, agricultural commercialization, agro-processing and market development and sustainable land and water management and two supporting pillars on technology development and dissemination and institutional support. The project achieved this through irrigation, market development and capacity building and institutional development by providing equipment and vehicles and resources for both Government and farmers.
