Morocco - Analysis of the Education and Training Sector
This report analyses Morocco’s education and training system through the lens of efficiency and youth employment of those with or without a diploma. It looks at efficiency issues in the financing of the education system as well as policy and practices in different education subsectors. The latter is interesting in Morocco where education services are provided by three ministries (Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training). The study examines how services provided by these ministries allow Moroccan youth to structure their education and training and integrate the labor market. Drawing its information from administrative data (school statistics, demographics and budgets executed, household, employment and student achievement surveys), and previous studies and works, the report looks at enrolment outcomes and disparities, student achievement, and youth employment upon school completion. Finally the efficiency of the system is analyzed by comparing investments and results achieved.
