Morocco - Technical Support to South Morocco Oases Safeguard and Development Programme - Project Completion Report (PCR) – 02 2015
In Morocco, oases play an important role in the subsistence of many families, in addition to their ecological and agro-tourist role in creating a micro-climate indispensable for satisfactory crop development at three levels of vegetation (annual or perennial seasonal plants, fruit trees and date palms). The historical and cultural heritage and know-how of the oasis populations also constitute ancestral wealth that needs to be safeguarded and developed. Indeed, oases contribute to the subsistence of many families (up to 2 million in habitants).
