Zimbabwe: First Line of Credit to Zimbabwe Development Bank
This Intermediate Project Performance Audit Report (IPPAR) covers the first line of credit to Zimbabwe Development Bank (ZDB). The line of credit of UA 10.0 million was approved on 15 February 1990 and the loan agreement was signed on 31 May 1990. About 80 per cent of the approved amount was committed and fully disbursed within two years and the undisbursed amount was eventually cancelled. The relevant Project Completion Report was completed in June 1994.Read more

Zambia: Third and Fourth Lines of Credit to Development Bank of Zambia
This Project Performance Audit Report (PPAR) covers the third and fourth lines of credit to Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ). The third line of credit of UA 10 million was approved on 16 March 1982, the related loan agreement signed on 05 May 1982, and its disbursement was completed in May 1989. As regards the fourth line of credit of UA 15 million, approval and loan signature were on 25 June, 1987 and 30 September, 1987 respectively while disbursement was completed in February 1992. A Project Completion Report covering both lines of credit was completed in March 1994.Read more

The Bank’s participation fell within the framework of the CNCA’s investment programme 198 1-1991 (the CNCA is Morocco’s foremost agricultural development agency). The present project performance audit report (PPAR) deals with the first agricultural line of credit to the Banque Nationale Agricole de Tunisie (BNA) which the ADB granted a loan of UA 18 million in 1985. The purpose of the loan was to contribute towards the achievement of food self-sufficiency. Its immediate objective was to develop agricultural production in order to meet the domestic demand and enable promoters to earn substantial revenues.Read more

The ADB Third Line of Credit to Development Bank of Mauritius (DIIM) Limited was approved in February, 1988 for an amount of UA 5,000,000. The line of credit was a follow-on operation to the second one, which had been granted to DBM in May 1982 in an amount of UA 3,000,000, in support of the Government of Mauritius (GOM’s) efforts at further developing the small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMSE) sector in particular and at economic diversification in general.Read more

At the request of the Government of Senegal, a line of credit of UA 1.5 million (equivalent to 417 million CFA) was granted to the Union Senegalaise de Banque in 1973, for the financing of small and medium-scale enterprises. Morocco: Lines of Credit to the Banque Nationale pour le Developpement Economique (BNDE)
As at 31 December 1981, the African development Bank had committed in the form of loans an overall amount of UA 183.89 million, i.e. 13.8% of the cumulative loans which are divided among 46 lines of credit granted to 25 development banks in 24 member countries. ADF commitment under the same heading amounted to UA 37 million, or 3.1% of accumulated loans granted by the Bank Group. Besides the said lines of credit, ADB had, as at 31 December 1981, bought capital stock in a number of financial institutions for all an overall amount of UA 1.7 million. Moreover, it has contributed to the establishment of these institutions through its training programmes as well as through the activities of the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) whose secretariat is handled by ADB.Read more
