Republic Of Uganda - Proposal For a Grant of Us $1,000,000 as Emergency Assistance to Support the National Ebola Viral Disease Preparedness and Response Plan - Emergency and Special Assistance Grants


An Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak was notified to the World Health Organization (WHO) by the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on 1st August 2018 in Mabalako health zone, Beni territory in North Kivu Province, after four blood specimens tested positive for Ebola Zaire Virus. After analysis, this outbreak was confirmed to be separate from the 9th outbreak that had just ended in Orientale Province in Western DRC, making this the 10th EVD outbreak in DRC. From August 2018 to 10th June 2019, 2,062 cases (1,968 confirmed) with 1,390 deaths (1,296 confirmed) and 96 probable cases had been reported in North Kivu and Ituri Provinces of DRC.
