Tunisia - Project to develop and equip the power transmission grid (PAERTE) - Project Appraisal Reports
The Project to Develop and Equip the Power Transmission Grid (PAERTE) is an investment initiative aimed at strengthening Tunisia’s transmission network. Its goal is to improve electricity supply quality throughout the country, particularly in the Bizerte, Ben Arous, Sousse, Sfax, and Gabes governorates. The project also aims to strengthen the electricity grid for the integration of renewable energies expected from solar and wind power plants that are being developed. The total project cost is EUR 290 million. It will be co-financed by the Bank Group through the AfDB window (EUR 108 million) and AGTF (EUR 30 million), the IsDB (EUR 121 million) and STEG (EUR 31 million). The duration of the project physical execution is 48 months from 2020 to 2023.
