The flagship event of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the 2017 Triennale, initially scheduled to take place in Marrakech, the Kingdom of Morocco from March 14-17, 2017, will now take place in the Republic of Senegal under the high patronage of Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and Lead Champion for the Committee of Ten Champion African Heads of State on Higher Education, Science and Technology.

The dates of the ADEA Triennale remain the same.

The new venue which will host the ADEA 2017 Triennale in Senegal will be the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD) in Diamniadio, approximately 30 kilometres from Dakar.

President Macky Sall will grace the Official Opening Ceremony, scheduled for Thursday afternoon on March 16, 2017, together with other African Heads of State and Government, foreign Heads of State, African and non-African Ministers, development cooperation agencies and other prominent stakeholders in education, science and technology.

The change of venue has been facilitated by the mutual fraternal agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Senegal. The Government of Morocco has given its blessings for the Government of the Republic of Senegal to host the Triennale. The hosting and logistical preparations are underway between ADEA and the Government of the Republic of Senegal to expedite the process given the short notice.
