ADF-Ghana: Poverty Reduction Support

The African Development Fund Vice-President in charge of Operations in West and Centre Regions, Mr. Bisi Ogunjobi, and Ghana’s deputy finance minister, Mr. Kwaku Aguyeman-Manu, signed an agreement today in Tunis for a loan of 44 million Units of Account* (US$ 64 million) to finance the country’s Second Poverty Reduction Support project (PRSL-II).

The loan will be used to support policies and reforms aimed at creating conditions for private sector development and harnessing growth, incomes and employment, accelerating human resource development and strengthening governance and public sector management.

The Bank Group has approved nearly $ 1 billion in loans and $ 45 million in grants for Ghana since it started operations in the country more than 30 years ago, Mr. Ogunjobi said.
