12/02/2019 - The African Development Bank and UN Women held their fourth steering committee meeting on 8 February 2019 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2016 and have since then implemented a joint roadmap to advance gender equality on the African continent. This steering committee meeting aimed to review progress and define next steps in the partnership.

11/12/2018 - At the Africa 2018 Forum held in Sharm-El-Sheik from 8-9 December 2018, the role of women and young people in unlocking the economic potential of Africa took centre stage. The Forum is an international event hosted under the High Patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of Republic of Egypt, aiming to promote greater economic integration through increased investment flows into Africa.

10/12/2018 - La Banque africaine de développement et Entreprenarium ont noué un partenariat dans le cadre d’AFAWA (Initiative pour favoriser l’accès des femmes au financement en Afrique, acronyme en anglais) pour soutenir 1 000 femmes entrepreneures dans cinq pays africains. Ces deux organisations se sont associées à la Confédération patronale gabonaise (CPG) pour la mise en œuvre du programme au Gabon.

10/12/2018 - La Banque africaine de développement, dans le cadre de son Initiative pour favoriser l’accès des femmes au financement en Afrique (AFAWA, acronyme en anglais), et en partenariat avec Entreprenarium, lance lundi 10 décembre 2018 des sessions de formation pour 200 femmes entrepreneures en Côte d’Ivoire. Des masterclass en gestion d’entreprise et planification financière seront conduites toute la semaine par Entreprenarium dans les locaux de la Banque, au profit de 100 femmes entrepreneures. Une deuxième semaine de masterclass est prévue en mars 2019 à Abidjan, pour former un total de 200 femmes en Côte d’Ivoire.

02/11/2018 - The African Development Bank’s Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) program has signed a financial procedures agreement with the World Bank-led Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi).

02/09/2016 - The Office of the Special the African Development Bank (AfDB's) Envoy on Gender (SEOG) in collaboration with the Agriculture and Agro-Industry Department (OSAN) and under the leadership of the AfDB Senior Vice President, Frannie Leautier, is convening a EWA-AFAWA Technical Session on 2-3 September to forge and reinforce partnership between the EWA and AFAWA Initiatives in order to coordinate action on the economic empowerment of women in the agriculture value chain Africa through specifically identifying a Road Map for joint initiatives and operations.
