AfDB and ICF Discuss Enhanced Collaboration
Experts of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and representatives of the Investment Climate Facility (ICF) met on Monday, November 17, 2008, in Tunis, Tunisia to discuss the possibility of establishing a mechanism for enhanced collaboration and partnership between both institutions. The discussions are expected, among others, to result in a better understanding of the work programs of both institutions. Representatives of both institutions are expected to identify areas for collaboration and, possibly, select joint operations and activities, as well as put in place mechanisms to follow-up on the meeting and assess the collaboration between both parties. The ICF works to remove obstacles to doing business in Africa, recognizing that a healthy investment climate is vital for the continent's economic growth. ICF is a unique partnership between private companies, development partners and governments, founded on the principle that African governments and the private sector need to work together to enable the continent to finally realize its very real investment potential.
