The project will make ABUAD a centre of excellence for tertiary education in Africa, expanding access to high-quality education to over 10,000 students per year.

14-Oct-2016 - The African Water Facility (AWF) held a three-day event from September 28 to 30, 2016 to launch the Improved Sanitation Value Chain (ISVC) project, which aims to serve the urban poor in Arba Minch Town, one of the major cities of Southern Ethiopia. The AWF €1.5-million grant to the ISVC project will contribute to improve sanitation and faecal waste management for more than 21,000 Arba Minch citizens while boosting the local businesses and agricultural production with the provision of eco-friendly and affordable fertilisers.
14-Oct-2016 - Interest in agriculture and food security issues in North Africa increased after the food price rise and continued price volatility since late 2006. North African countries are highly dependent on world markets for their food security. This did not seem to be a problem as long as world food prices were low and stable during the 1980s and 1990s. However, when they started rising and becoming more volatile after 2006, alarm bells rang all across the region.

12-Oct-2016 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved a Senior Loan of ZAR 570 million to South Africa’s Housing Investment Partners Trust 2 -HIP2), also known as Vulumnyango Trust, to help finance affordable housing programmes in the country. The loan will help improve access to long-term affordable housing finance to South Africa’s lower-middle income earners currently with limited opportunities to access affordable mortgages.
