Vulture funds, the negotiation of complex commercial agreements and the reinforcement of juridical capacities of African managerial staff were the main issues that the management council of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) examined on May 27, 2013, in Marrakech, on the sidelines of the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings.

The governance council meeting follows that of the Facility’s management council, which took place on May 26, 2013. This meeting served as a framework for the ALSF to engage in a dialogue with key stakeholders. For the ALSF, it was also about identifying and developing new partnerships, while consolidating assets.

Several ALSF events were held in Marrakech, including a meeting honouring the signing parties of the agreement that created the Facility and a meeting in collaboration with the AfDB and JP Morgan. The discussions with JP Morgan on May 28 were on “Maximizing Gains from Natural Resources.”

In addition, the Facility’s representatives were to meet with Government officials and other partners to exchange information and experiences.
